IT’S OFFICIAL walking has a new image as top outdoor presenter, Julia Bradbury, takes Presidency of the Ramblers in its 75th year. Over the coming months, she’s calling on 'everyone and anyone' to get out and make the most of summer by getting off the sofa and joining a Ramblers summer evening stroll.
Julia Bradbury, one of Britain's most exciting and experienced presenters, is promising to 'put the passion into walking'. The presenter has become the glamorous and enthusiastic face of the outdoors in recent years with a string of successful television shows that have reached record audiences. Walking is for everyone and anyone; young, old, families, partners and mates can all enjoy a good walk. Get out there for an urban stroll, a hike across the fells or just walk the dog!"

This summer she is calling on Britain to get outdoors, and join in the Ramblers’ ever popular programme of summer evening walks (June to September). Hundreds of after-work strolls will take place each week, ranging from three to seven miles, in cities and countryside alike. They are at the heart of walking in Britain everyone walks, so the Ramblers is for everyone. It is Britain’s walking charity and works to make it easier for everyone to walk, whether in countryside, cities, hills, coasts and on or off the beaten track. What’s more it is a grass roots network of over 12,000 volunteers who work tirelessly for a walking Britain. For 74 years it has helped build and protect Britain’s 130,000 mile long path network, it runs over 28,000 walks a year, and campaigns for better walking routes and more walking opportunities. They celebrate 75 years at the heart of walking this year.
