Royal Ascot : Feedback

Dear Julia Bradbury

It was an unexpected pleasure seeing you presenting “Things Fashion” during the Ascot afternoons: I have been a great fan of yours from the Wainrightly presentation of hardy walks in the Lakes. I only once ‘got the Lakes’ as a teenager, but was seduced whilst studying at Newcastle with wild places north-easterly, as well as my home beat, the Staffs/Derbyshire peaks.

May I please request, one day, such a walks programme along Hadrian’s Wall?

Stuck in front of the TV through an accident, seeing you has been very memorable at Ascot – though I only risked one bet on a race, the unstoppable “Yeats’. He was a ‘must’ especially as my wife and I recently had a wonderful – and hot – holiday in West Ireland.
We followed the poetic sites of the poets W B Yeats; sadly, whilst rough-walking/scrambling, I broke my wrist on a spectacular megalithic tomb (feeling, of course, like Indiana Jones); part of my recovery is – carefully writing a poem for you, praising your televisual Lakes rambles, and – of course – Ascot. Hope you like it!

May I please ask for a signed photo? All the best for your career!

Yours sincerely

Chris Brookes, Staffordshire
